Hi there,
Meg here.
I am so happy that our paths have crossed! Let me start by introducing myself. I am a Professional Portrait & Wedding Photographer
based in Pawleys Island, South Carolina and capturing meaningful moments is what I do best. Photography is my greatest passion and I feel extremely blessed to do what I love for a living. Best known for my naturalistic style and feel good approach, nothing makes me happier than capturing the essence of my clients and illuminating the beauty that I see in all of my subjects.
MY APPROACH +
STYLE
With every session, I aim to create a judgement free environment that is filled with creative freedom and genuine smiles. Because, let's be real, everything turns out better when there is a little bit of heart, a lot of soul, and a dash of humor involved! If I had to describe my style as a photographer in 7 words, it would be: passionate, detail-oriented, creative, soulful, artistic, organic, and authentic.
MY LOVES
When I am not out shooting, you will find me hanging with my favorite beings: my husband (Jim) and our two four legged kids - Nesta and Kua. Most likely, hanging out on our porch listening to or playing music. Or, you will find us by the fire with a beer in hand. To say I am grateful for my loves and this life we live is an understatement.
Where it all began...
Long before shooting weddings and portraits, my career actually began in the surf and action sports industry. But, this didn't happen over night. Being completely self taught and motivated, it took years of dedication to my craft and eventually all of the hard work paid off. I scored my first publication in Eastern Surf Magazine's exclusive Media Kit Edition in 2006, and from there I never looked back.
IN THE YEARS FOLLOWING...
I was blessed to travel as a surf photographer, capturing some of the best surfers in the world and earning numerous publications in world renowned surf magazines. And I must add, this was all in a male dominated industry. With only a handful of female surf photographers in the world at that time, let alone South Carolina, this was a huge accomplishment for me. To carve out a space for my work in the industry and finally make a living doing what I love, it was truly a dream come true! Now, looking back, I am so grateful for those years spent on the beach and the countless miles spent in the truck searching for swell. Those years allowed me to develop into the photographer I am today. Without those years, I wouldn't be where I am. And, while I have expanded my work beyond surfing, surf photography will always be my first love.
