FACTS & QUESTIONS

If you have a question that is not addressed below,

please reach out directly.

Q: How long have you been a photographer & what gear do you use?

I have been a family portrait and wedding photographer in the Pawleys Island, SC area for 17 years. I use all Canon gear.

Q: How much does a family session cost and what comes with it?

I have two different types of family sessions: Single Family and Extended Family. Individual family sessions come with a collection of the best 50, edited, high res images on personal flash drive with a copyright release for personal printing.

For Extended family sessions, I offer a customized quote based on the answers to the following questions:

- How many people will be in your group?

- How many individual families are in your group?

- How many kiddos?

- Age range of the kiddos?

- What date(s) are you interested in shooting your session?

Q: How DO I CHOOSE MY PHOTOS?

The images you receive are chosen for you, and may include posed images, group shots, individuals, candids, details, and/or something artistic and unexpected. You are receiving the best images from your session. Best images are the images that represent your session & the photographer's work, the best. You receive something of everything we shoot - a well rounded journey through our session.

Q: Do i need a deposit to book a family session?

No sitting fee or deposit is necessary for individual family sessions. We will just settle up the night of the session. For booking an extended family session, a deposit may be required. Please contact me directly for more information.

Q: What payments do you accept?

I accept all major credit cards, cash, check, or Venmo payments

Q: What SHOULD WE WEAR TO OUR SESSION?

I suggest choosing a three color, color palette & then ask everyone to wear something they love, that reflects their style, in that color platte. That way we can mix and match all the different combinations of people, and everyone "goes together" rather than "matching". Bold colors add a pop or contract to some of the beautiful scenic backgrounds that we use. Accessories, ie hats, glasses, jackets, jewelry, scarves, etc. are an easy way to add visual interest to your look and can be quickly removed to change up the style.

Q: IS THERE anything we should not wear to our session?

First and foremost, you should always feel like yourself. I would not wear anything that you wouldn't normally wear, style wise. Also, ruffles will blow in the slightest wind and can be hard to keep still in photos. Opt out of tiny pin stripes and super busy patterns.

Q: Where do we meet for our session?

I am happy to come to your home or vacation rental for your family session, between Litchfield and Georgetown. Or, I have several favorite session locations in the area. I also have access to unique private property that is available at certain times of the year. Please contact me to discuss your session location options.

Q: What time do we meet for our session?

Session start time is two hours before sunset, for best lighting. Start time varies, depending on time of year. Generally speaking, start time in the spring and summer months is 6:30 - 7pm. And, in the fall and winter months, 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Q: What Happens if it rains?

Rain is always a potential factor and I watch the forecast like crazy! It is always the plan to get the session in but, if the weather is too bad, I always try my best to reschedule your session.

Q: What Is your turn around time for family photography?

Turn around time is 3-4 weeks in the summer months and 2-3 weeks the rest of the year. All photos are sent to you at the address you provide.

Q: can I shoot my family session & another session at the same time?

I do not combine sessions. Each session takes thought, time, and attention to detail. I like my clients to feel comfortable knowing I am focusing on them and not distracted by too many intentions. If there are multiple sessions that you would like to shoot, please contact me. It may be possible to book back to back sessions and pricing may differ.

Q: Do you shoot morning sessions?

No, not at this time.

Q: Can i shoot a mini session?

Mini sessions are only offered at certain times of the year and are not something that I offer on a regular basis.

Q: Can i post my photos on social media?

Yes. All images are copyrighted by Meghan Whitney Photography. Please give photo credit when posting on social media sites or using within digital platforms.
